Description:
All of the Fuel Selectors that Andair currently manufacture can be used in conjunction with an SEK (Selector Extension Kit) This allows the body of the valve to be mounted remotely and operated via a tube. NOTE - The SEK is not retrofittable
to a previously purchased valve. To obtain a valve with an extension it must be indicated at time of ordering. Customers that require a SEK for a previously purchased valve must send the unit back to Andair for modification.
The lower detent on the Extension Fuel Selector
The SEK is made up of a number of components and the images to the side shows one of them. This is an FS20x2-M that has been fitted a detent mechanism. The reason for this is so that over the distance of the extension the valve has its own detent. This remarkably increases to the feel of the 'click' when selecting tanks. On this particular one, there is a 'click' at each 90 degree position
The Upper Section
The Upper section consists of the lever, Facia plate (engraved) and a spindle to connect to the tube. The images to the side show a universal coupling being used.
The Upper section operates in the same way as a standard valve. i.e. It has a detent at each tank selection and the safety button must be raised to switch the fuel supply off.
The tube lengths supplied are normally 7", if you require longer please specify.
To order a valve with extension put an 'E' in front of the valve part number. ie an FS20x2-M with extension is an EFS20x2-M.

Set up
There is one single most important aspect to take account of when setting up the extension and that is that the upper and lower sections must be aligned. (i.e. when the upper section in the left position and in its detent, the lower section MUST be in the same condition). If they are not, the detents on the valve and lever will not coincide and the valve will not be doing what the facia plate says. The tube is attached to the spindles by way of solid rivets. This is done by the customer so that they can cut the tube to exact required length. Also one advantage of the extension over the standard valve is that it is possible to orientate the lower and upper sections independently. i.e. the valve and its fittings can be positioned in a way that allows for easy plumbing whilst the handle and facia plate can be orientated that allows for logical/easy switching. This aspect is true only if the two parts have been coupled correctly as mentioned above.

Universal Couplings
It is possible to use Universal Couplings in conjunction with the extension. 1 or 2 universal couplings can be used. These allow for an angle of around 15o-20o To order an Extension selector with 2 universal coupling add -UJ2 after the part number, and for one add -UJ1 after the part number. Due to the fact that the upper and lower couplings are different, if ordering 1 universal coupling it must be specified whether it is the lower coupling that is required of the lower one. Therefore, if ordering 1 universal coupling for the lower section add -UJ1-L and for the upper section add -UJ1-U after the part number. eg. EFS20x2-M-UJ1-L would be an FS20x2 with Male Fittings and Extension. 1 universal Coupling for the lower section will be supplied.
