The GAS500 Gascolator.
Sutiable for engines of 250+ HP, the GAS500 is a tough, rugid and compact Gascolator. Precision machined from aircraft grade Aluminium and chromic anodised for procection this gascolator is the leader of the field.
On looking at the front of the Gascolator, fuel flows in to the right hand port and exits via the port on the left. The fuel cascades over the filter and fills the bowl. To exit, the fuel must be drawn throught the PTFE coated 70 micron Stainless Steel filter screen. The PTFE coating helps prevent the fuel from passing by maintaining the water in a droplet formation.
The bowl is removed by unscrewing the black ring and pulling of the bowl, then the internals can be inspected. Similarly the filter can be removed by simply unscrewing it. This can then be then cleaned out by swilling in fuel or by blowing off with an air line.
To refit the bowl the 2 dowels in the bowl must be positioned into the slots machined in the body. This has two functions. 1) Prevents the bowl from unscrewing when the ring is safety wired. 2)The rings thread will not reach the thread on the bowl unless the bowl has been correctly fitted.
The Gascolator is equipt with a 1/4" NPT hole on the top and can be used for a pressure tapping, or a primer line. Incidently, the fuel from this port is filtered fuel. On the base of the bowl is also a 1/8" NPT hole that can be used to screw in a quick drain.
